Sawn Log ConstructionTrees are first selected to ensure that only the most suitable are used, they are then felled and milled to a thickness of 6" (a thickness sufficient to insulate through the Finnish winter). After milling both the top and the bottom of the logs, they are shaped to ensure a tight uniform fit along the full length of each log. ![]()

Following this, the construction of the cabin begins with measuring, marking and cutting out of the half lap joints, which are both secure and sturdy, holding the building in shape. As each layer of the cabin goes up it is held to the layer below by means of large wooden pegs, ensuring that the need for nails or other fixings is removed. |

When the cabin walls have reached their desired height, the roof is then added and covered with the customer's choice of finish. Next the building is sanded both inside and out to create a distinctive and attractive finish, which is both beautiful to look at and to touch, as well as improving its water shedding properties. |

If being constructed away from your site, the building would then be labelled and dismantled in readiness for transportation to your site. Upon arrival, your building will be re-assembled and all finishing touches will be made. This will include the installation of all windows, doors and floor plus the application of the natural oil that all our buildings are finished in. |
