Laura's Garden Cabin is a timber post and beam project in Cropredy, near Banbury.
It is 15ft x 9ft and is clad inside and out with insulation in the walls, ceiling and floor. The external clad is typical of the lap found on traditional timber buildings around the UK. The roof is turfed to blend in with the thatched houses in the village.
The cabin is meant for all year round use and is equipped with sockets, lighting and a bathroom. It has double glazed windows and door, and 28mm thick floor boards.
The cost of the completed structure erected on site is £9800. This excludes the cost of the base, wiring and plumbing.
